The Teays Valley Youth Camp is set for June 14-17.  Students entering grades 5-8 in the 2010-11 school year will have camp from 9:00-11:30.  Students entering grades 2-4 in the 2010-11 school year will have camp from 12:30-3:00.  You are welcome to sign up the day of camp.  Camp cost is $50 and the camp will be held at Teays Valley High School in the main gym.

High School Schedule:

 June 14-16 there will be practice to prepare for Team Camp at the University of Cincinnati.  If you are attending team camp please plan on attending.  There will be no open gyms planned for this week.

June 18-20 - Team Camp at the University of Cincinnati.  We will meet at 7:45 am on Friday, June 18th to leave for camp.

June 21-27 - Open gym will be held on Tuesday, June 22nd from 6-8.  June 25th - Varsity Shootout at Wright State.   June 26th and 27th - Varsity Shootout at the University of Toledo.

June 28- July 4 - The Gyms will be closed for cleaning.  We will lift from 9-10 Monday (28th), Wednesday (30th) and Friday (2nd)

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team earned their way to the Districts with a come from behind win over Independence by the final score of 46-40.  The Vikings struggled offensively in the first half and were only able to put 9 points on the scoreboard, but were able to keep the score within striking distance by playing good half court defense and holding Independence to 22 first half points.  The Vikings came out hot in the third quarter and outscored Independence 19-2 to take a 4 point lead heading into the final quarter.  The Vikings finished the fourth quarter by outscoring Independence 18-16 and hitting 10-12 free throws in the final stanza.  Scoring for the Vikings: Koah 12, Anderson 16, Bowling 12, Cowles 4, Priest 2.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team was able to come away with a hard fought two point win against New Albany in the first round of tournament play.  The game was close throughout as neither team was able to get on track offensively and both teams played extremely well defensively.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 3, Koah 6, Anderson 15, Bowling 7, Cowles 3, Priest 3.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team ran out of gas midway through the fourth quarter as they completed their 3rd game in 3 days.  The Indians began the fourth quarter with a one point lead, but were able to outscore the Vikings 22-12 in the final quarter to gain the win.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 11, Koah 11, Hite 3, Anderson 20, Bowling 4, Cowles 3, Priest 7, Tavenner 2.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball team battled to 55-52 overtime victory over visiting Fairfield Union.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 5, Koah 8, Anderson 17, Bowling 17, Cowles 7, Priest 1.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team won a physical contest agains Amanda Clearcreek at home by a final score of 55-47.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 3, Koah 11, Anderson 18, Bowling 11, Cowles 1, Priest 10, Tavenner 1.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team struggled offensively and lost at Logan Elm 42-35.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 4, Koah 7, Anderson 6, Bowling 8, Cowles 2, Priest 8.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball Team got off to a 16-0 start, but let the lead slip away and had to battle back and win the game in the final minute by the score of 44-42.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 3, Koah 9, Anderson 21, Bowling 4, Cowles 2, Priest 5.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team was able to open up the newly renovated main gym with a 50-34 victory over the visting Tigers of Circleville.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 3, Koah 16, Anderson 10, Bowling 7, Cowles 9, Priest 3, Tavenner 2.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball team struggled offensively against Bloom Carroll and were defeated by a final score of 35-30.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Koah 7, Anderson 14, Bowling 9.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys put together a good first and last quarter to earn a victory over Fairfield Union 53-50.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Dresbach 6, Koah 12, Anderson 23, Bowling 4, Cowles 1, Tavenner 7.

The Vikings Boys Basketball Team played solid defense which lead to easy scores as they converted turnovers into fastbreak opportunities against Watkins Memorial.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 5, Koah 17, Anderson 6, Bowling 14, Hodge 6, Cowles 4, Betts 3, Priest 11, Tavenner 17, Graves 2, Glick 3.

Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team came up on the short end of a Mid State League contest against Canal Winchester by the final score of 56-50.  The Vikings played extremely well in the first half and took a 12 point lead into the locker room.  Teays Valley struggled to put the ball in the basket in the second half and the Indians took advantage.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 2, Koah 3, Anderson 16, Bowling 12, Cowles 11, Priest 6.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball Team came away with a tough road win at Amanda Clearcreek by the final score of 48-39.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 1, Koah 6, Anderson 18, Bowling 12, Cowles 4, Priest 7.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball team was defeated by Logan Elm at Ohio Christian University 53-48.  Logan Elm shot the ball very well in the second and third quarters to build a 15 point lead.  Teays Valley was able to put together a good fourth quarter to cut into the lead, but could never get any closer than the final margin.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 3, Koah 10, Anderson 14, Bowling 5, Hodge 2, Cowles 10, Priest 4.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team got off to a fast start and never looked back on their way to a 59-36 victory over the visiting Westfall Mustangs in a game played at Ohio Christian University.  Pressure defense and balanced scoring were the keys to the Viking victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 7, Koah 8, Anderson 19, Bowling 7, Hodge 5, Cowles 5, Betts 2, Poole 2, Tavenner 2, Graves 2.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team put together a solid four quarter effort against the visiting Rangers of Hamilton Township to post a 61-52 victory in Mid State League action.   The Vikings moved the ball well on offense and hit their free throws down the stretch to secure the victiory and move to 2-1 in league play and 4-2 overall.  Scoring for the Vikings: Koah 5, Anderson 15, Bowling 17, Cowles 11, Poole 9, Tavenner 4.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team got off to a fast start and never looked back on their way to a 63-36 win over the Circleville Tigers Friday evening.  The Vikings did a very good job of applying pressure on the defensive end and took advantage of their size on the offensive end to get many close range baskets.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 8, Anderson 17, Bowling 9, Cowles 5, Betts 2, Priest 6, Poole 6, Tavenner 8, Graves 2.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball team opened league play with a loss to Bloom Carroll 49-42.  The game was very close throughout the first three quarters as neither team was able to lead by more than 4 points.  The Bulldogs were able to pull away in the last 4 minutes of the game and hit free throws down the stretch to seal the win.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Dresbach 2, Koah 2, Anderson 20, Bowling 3, Cowles 7, Priest 5, Poole 1, Tavenner 2.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball team traveled to Mifflin and competed well for the first three quarters, but Mifflin was able to outscore the Vikings by 13 in the final quarter to hand Teays Valley their first loss of the season.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Dresbach 4, Koah 3, Anderson 13, Bowling 9, Hodge 10, Priest 4, Poole 4, Tavenner 8.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team traveled to Lancaster for their first road game of the season Saturday night.  The Vikings got off to a good start and built a 14-11 first quarter.  The lead grew to double figures during the second quarter, but Lancaster was able to score at the buzzer to cut the deficit to 9 going into halftime.  The Vikings came out hot in the third quarter and scored 22 points in the quarter to push the lead to 50-29.  A solid 4th quarter allowed the Vikings to come away with the victory.  Teays Valley did a good job of finding the open man tonight and played extremely unselfish.  The Vikings are off until next Saturday when they travel to Bloom Carroll to open up league play.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 5, Koah 16, Anderson 16, Bowling 2, Cowles 4, Priest 6, Poole 11, Tavenner 3, Graves 1.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys got off to a 1-0 start with a home win over Dublin Jerome Friday evening in front of an enthusiastic crowd.  Both teams played aggressive defense and scoring was hard to come by the entire night.  The Vikings were able to finish the evening off by hitting 6 of their last 8 free throws to seal the victory.  Great win to start the season!  Scoring for the Vikings: Dresbach 4, Koah 12, Anderson 12, Bowling 7, Cowles 2, Priest 3, Poole 2, Tavenner 2.

The Teays Valley Boys Basketball team came up on the short end of a hard fought sectional final battle against Gahanna Lincoln 54-43.  The Vikings fell behind by 10 points at halftime, but were able to regroup and battle back in the second half.  The Vikings were able to cut the lead to 2 points with under 3 minutes to play, but were never able to take the lead.  This ends a very good 15-7 season for the Vikings.  A special thanks for the leadership and effort displayed by our 7 seniors this year.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 5, Bowling 2, Race 7, Zwayer 2, Ell 11, Anderson 14, Freeman 2.

The Teays Valley Boys Basketball Team defeated Tri Valley 60-44 in the first round of tournament action.  The Vikings played a very good defensive game and had a balanced scoring attack to come away with a solid victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Bowling 12, Race 21, Ell 4, Anderson 11, Freeman 8, Trego 4.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Team played their third game in four days and once again put forth a solid effort in defeating Fairfield Union 72-49.  The Vikings built a 9 point first quarter lead and extended the lead to 21 points at the half.  The Vikings never let the lead get below 16 in the second half.  This puts the Vikings at 9-5 overall in the Mid State League for a third place finish and 14-6 overall.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Brady 4, Coe 3, Race 29, Ell 10, Anderson 12, Freeman 6, Trego 4, Priest 2, Dresbach 2.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity team got off to a fast start again and built a 21-5 first quarter lead on the way to a 69-43 victory over Watkins Memorial.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Brady 5, Coe 2, Bowling 1, Race 22, Ell 4, Anderson 18, Freeman 4, Trego 8, Koah 3, Dresbach 2.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball team sent the Seniors out on a positive note with an 82-49 victory over Circleville on Senior night.  The Vikings got off to a fast start and built a 44-25 halftime lead and never looked back.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 2, Coe 14, Race 19, Ell 13, Anderson 8, Tavenner 4, Freeman 6, Trego 8, Koah 2, Priest 6.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball team won a league contest at Hamilton 64-55 Saturday afternoon.  The Vikings got off to a good start and built a 17-10 first quarter lead.  The Vikings were able to shoot well from the free throw line throughout the game to keep the lead and put the Rangers away.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Brady 5, Bowling 4, Race 14, Ell 8, Anderson 11, Freeman 8, Trego 14.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball Team went on the road to Amanda and came away with a 50-29 victory.  The Vikings were able to apply very good defensive pressure and hold Amanda to 11 field goals for the game.  Scoring for the Vikings: Coe 1, Bowling 4, Race 12, Ell 16, Anderson 6, Trego 10, Dresbach 1.

The Teays Valley Boys lost a hard fought battle against Logan Elm 58-44.  The Vikings got off to a slow start offensively and fell behind 17-9 after one.  The game remained close throughout, but the Vikings were never able to put together a run to close the gap.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 2, Coe 3, Race 5, Zwayer 1, Ell 4, Anderson 17, Freeman 8, Trego 4.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team posted a 70-60 win over Canal Winchester  Tuesday evening.  Canal came into the game a perfect 8-0 in league play.  The Vikings got off to a good start and lead by 6 after one quarter and 14 at the half.  The Vikings were able to extend the lead to 22 points in the third, but the Indians were able to fight back and cut the lead to as low as 8 points in the last quarter.  The Vikings stayed tough down the stretch and hit 11 of 14  free throws to seal the victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 2, Coe 4, Bowling 3, Race 23, Zwayer 4, Ell 17, Anderson 14, Freeman 3.

The Vikings rebounded from a tough league loss with a good performance against Briggs in a 74-50 victory.  The Vikings took control early outscoring Briggs by 13 in the first and 9 in the second to take a 47-25 halftime lead.  The Vikings remained solid in the second half playing good defense and limiting Briggs to 25 second half points.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 4, Coe 9, Race 26, Zwayer 8, Ell 2, Anderson 18, Freeman 2, Trego 2, Koah 3.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball team lost a physical league contest to Fairfield Union 63-56.  Teays Valley played a good first half and lead by three and halftime.  The third quarter was the difference in the game as the Falcons outscored the Vikings 20-9.  The Vikings were never able to put together a sustained run in the fourth quarter.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 2, Coe 16, Race 14, Ell 1, Anderson 17, Freeman 4, Trego 2.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball team ran into a hot shooting Circleville squad Saturday night, but were able to turn up the defensive pressure in the second half to come away with a 59-52 victory.  This puts the Vikings at 7-3 overall and 4-2 in the league.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 3, Coe 7, Bowling 5, Race 10, Zwayer 8, Ell 4, Anderson 15, Freeman 5, Trego 2.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team played one of their best games to date vs. Hamilton and came away with a 78-56 victory.  It was the first time this season that the Vikings won all four quarters of the game.  The Vikings did a very good job of passing the ball for good looks at the basket as 3 players recorded 5 or more assists on the evening.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 2, Coe 10, Bowling 9, Race 25, Zwayer 2, Ell 6, Anderson 16, Freeman 4, Trego 4.

The Viking Boys Varsity Basketball team got off to a great start in the first quarter against Amanda Clearcreek and built a 24-11 lead.  The Vikings lost focus in the middle two quarters as Amanda closed the gap to 48-41 after three quarters of action.  The Vikings put forth their best defensive effort in the fourth quarter as they held Amanda to 9 points and finished with a 65-50 victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 3, Coe 5, Race 9, Zwayer 7, Ell 23, Anderson 14, Freeman 4.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team battled Lancaster in overtime to a 50-44 victory.  This was the third consecutive overtime game played by the Vikings.  Teays Valley opened up a 6 point lead in the 4th quarter, but poor free throw shooting allowed Lancaster to hang around and put the game in overtime.  The Vikings took control in the overtime by outscoring the Golden Gales 9-3.  This puts the Vikings at 4-3 overall on the year.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brady 3, Coe 5, Race 8, Zwayer 4, Ell 9, Anderson 11, Freeman 3, Trego 7.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball were able to pull out a 68-58 overtime win at Westfall.  The Vikings started out sluggish and fell behind at halftime.  A solid 3rd quarter effort put the Vikings up by 4 heading into the final period of play.  Teays Valley built a comfortable 8 point lead with 4 minutes remaining, but turnovers and poor free throw shooting allowed the Mustangs to tie the game and send it into overtime.  The Vikings took control in the overtime and outscored the Mustangs 13-3 to seal the victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Coe 3, Bowling 2, Race 28, Zwayer 4, Anderson 18, Freeman 4, Trego 10.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball team lost to Gahanna 59-64 in overtime.  The Vikings lead for the majority of the game, but were never able to put Gahanna away.  Gahanna scored with 2 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime.  The Vikings were outscored 11-6 in the extra session.  Scoring for the Vikings: Coe 8, Bowling 6, Race 14, Ell 4, Anderson 15, Freeman 4, Trego 8.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball team went to Bloom Carroll and earned a tough 56-41 victory over the Bulldogs.  Teays Valley maintained a slim lead for the majority of the night, but the 4th quarter proved to be the difference as the Vikings outscored Bloom 17-4.  Scoring for the Vikings: Coe 2, Race 18, Zwayer 3, Ell 2, Anderson 18, Freeman 6, Trego 7.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball Team lost a hard fought game vs. Logan Elm on the road.  I feel that it was the best effort that we have put forth all year.  The Vikings hung tough throughout the entire game, but the second quarter proved to be the difference as Logan Elm outscored the Vikings by 9 points in the quarter.  The Vikings closed to within 5 in the fourth quarter, but missed some key free throws in the fourth quarter that could have made the game much closer than the final score.  Scoring for the Vikings: Coe 2, Bowling 5, Race 24, Zwayer 3, Anderson 16, Freeman 2, Trego 6.

Teays Valley got off to a slow start against Canal and fell behind by 10 points in the first quarter.  The Vikings were never able to cut into the lead the entire night.  Scoring for the Vikings: Coe 1, Bowling 7, Race 8, Anderson 15, Freeman 4, Trego 2, Priest 4.

The Teays Valley Boys Varsity Basketball Team opened up the 2008-09 season with a 51-45 road victory at Dublin Jerome.  The Vikings took an early lead in the first quarter and were able to maintain the lead throughout the game.  The third quarter was the difference in the game as the Vikings posted 15 points and held the Celtics to only 5.  Even though the Vikings struggled in the fourth quarter with turnovers, they were able to hit enough free throws to seal the victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Coe 4, Race 20, Zwayer 4, Ell 2, Anderson 8, Freeman 6, Trego 7.  Next up for the Vikings is Canal Winchester.

The JV Vikings closed out the '09 - '10 campaign with a tough loss at Canal Winchester. The Vikings jumped out early taking a 14 - 9 lead into the second period, in the second period the two teams battled, with the Vikings holding on to a 24 - 19 halftime lead. In the third period the Indians turned up the defense and held the Vikes to 3 points in the quarter, the Vikings trailed 33 - 27. The JV Vikings never gave up and closed the gap to 4 points early in the fourth period before falling to the Indians by 11. Scoring for the Vikings: Billy Hodge had 12, Colin Graves added 10, Jamaal Glick had 5, Ryan Reed, Ben Tosca each added 4 and Ben Hite and Brenden Niezgoda each knocked in 2.  The JV Vikings ended the season with a 10 - 9 overall record and 8 - 6 in the MSL. I would like to thank all the players and their parents for a great season.

The JV Vikings were unable to hold on to a first half lead in falling to the Braves on Saturday.  The first quarter saw each team try to figure one another out and ended 4 to 4. THe Second period saw the Vikings score 19 points and jump to a 23 - 13 halftime lead. The second half saw the Vikings go cold from the field and the free throw line and the Braves heat up as Vikings were outscored in the second half 33 - 15. Scoring for the VIkings: Jacob Betts had 21, Colin Graves had 6, Brenden Niezgoda added 5, Jamal Glick had 3, Billy Hodge added 2 and Grant Gilliland had 1. The Vikings play at Canal Winchester on Tuesday. The JV record stands at 8 - 8 overall and 6 - 5 in the MSL.

The JV Vikings were able to win at Hamilton on Friday night after a 13 day lay off. The Vikes started off real slow and sluggish leading 7 - 6 after 1 period. The second period saw the Vikings hold the Rangers to 2 points in expanding the lead to 14 - 8 at half. The second half saw a see - saw battle in which the Vikings won 18 - 15 to secure their 8th win of the season. Scoring for the Vikings: Brenden Niezgoda had 10, Billy Hodge added 6, Jacob Betts and Jamal Glick had 4 each, Ben Hite and Grant Gilliland each chipped in 3 and Asa Featherstone had 2. The Vikings travel to Logan Elm Saturday.

The JV Vikings played a solid game in securing the victory in their final home game. The Vikings put 17 points on the board in the first queater and 13 more in the second to take a 30 - 25 lead into half time. The Second half saw two teams battle with stingy defense and timely offense. The Vikings were able to come away with an impressive 52 - 47 victory over the Falcons who had defeated the Vikings earlier in the year. Scoring for the Vikings:  Billy Hodge had 14, Jacob Betts had 10, Jamal Glick added 9, Colin Graves had 6, Ben Hite had 5, Asa Featherstone knocked in 4 and Grant Gilliland and Brenden Niezgoda each had 2. The Vikings will travel to Canal Winchester tomorrow night.

The JV Vikings defeated the Aces with a balanced scoring attack and solid defense. The Vikings jumped out to a 14 - 6 first quarter lead and extended that to 27 - 18 at the half. The Aces battled back and cut the lead to 2 before the Vikings went on a 8 - 0 run. The JV Vikings did a good job of taking care of the basketball and rebounding in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 13, Billy Hodge and Colin Graves each added 10, Asa Featherstone added 6, Grant Gilliland had 4, Brenden Niezgoda and Ben Tosca each had 2 and Ben Hite had 5. The Vikings play Fairfield Union tomorrow night at Teays Valley.

The JV Vikings ran past cross town rival Circleville in the New Viking gym. The Vikes jumped out to a 20 - 13 first quarter lead and extended the lead to 39 - 25 after 2 periods. The second half continued the same way the first half ended with a 14 - 7 third quarter run, followed by a solid fourth quarter. It was a good win for the Vikes, a win that everyone contributed in. Scoring for the Vikes: Jacob Bett had 15, Billy Hodge added 14, Asa Featherstone had 12, Ian Fox and Colin Graves each knocked in 8, CJ Glick had 7, Brenden Niezgoda added 3 and Grant Gilliland had 2. The Vikings travel to Hamilton on Friday and to Hilliard Bradley on Saturday.

The JV Vikings played their best game of the season in defeating the Bulldogs. The Vikings used sound defense and good passing in route to a 16 point victory.  The score was tied at 11 after one period and the Vikes trailed by 1 at half. The third quarter saw the VIkings score 17 while giving up only 5. The fourth quarter was much of the same as the Vikings extended their lead. The Vikings outscored the bulldogs 30 - 13 in the second half. Scoring for the VIkes: Colin Graves had 12, Billy Hodge and Asa Featherstone each chipped in 10, Brenden Niezgoda had 8, Jacob Betts added 6, and Grant Gilliland, Ben Tosca and CJ Glick each chipped in 2. The Vikings play Circleville on Saturday at home.

The JV  Vikes lost a tough game at Fairfield Union. The Falcons jumped out to a 17 - 8 first quarter lead and extended the margin to 11 at half. The Vikings never gave up as they battled back and cut the deficit to 6 after 3 periods. The fourth quarter saw the Vikings continue to close the gap to as few as 4, but were unable to overtake the Falcons. Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 10, Billy Hodge added 9, Ryan Reed and Colin Graves each had 7, Asa Featherstone had 6, and Ian Fox added 1. The Vikings play at home on Tuesday vs Bloom Carroll.  The Vikings are 5 - 7 overall and 3 - 4 in the MSL.

The JV Vikings jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they defeated the Warriors. The Vikings used solid defense and executed their offense very well in the win. Scoring for the Vikings:  Billy Hodge and Asa Featherstone each had 14, Jacob Betts had 11, C J Click had 10, Colin Graves added 7 and Aaron Stephenson and Anthony Robertson each had 2. The Vikings travel to Fairfield Union on Friday.

The JV Vikings needed overtime to defeat the Aces tonight. The Vikings did a good job of keeping their composure the whole game and making clutch baskets when needed. The Vikings held off 2 last second attempts by the Aces to secure the win. The JV Vikings jumped out to a 8 - 0 lead early in the game only to see the Braves outscore the Vikings 30 - 8 in the remaining part of the first half. The Vikings were down as many as 20 points, before battling back and closing the gap to 3 points with 1 minute to play in the game. The JV Vikings lost a tough county battle vs Westfall at OCU. The Vikings jumped out to a 13 - 8 lead after 1 Quarter only to see the Mustangs cut the deficit to 3 at half. The Mustangs came out in the second half and out scoring the Vikings 26 to 13 in securing the win. Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 11, Colin Graves had 7, Asa Featherstone chipped in 6, Billy Hodge and C.J. Click each knocked in 4, Ben Hite had 3 and Anthony Robertson had 2. The JV Vikings took control of the game early and never looked back in defeating the Rangers in an MSL game. The Vikings jumped out to an 18 - 8 halftime lead and scored 25 points in the decisive third quarter to put the Rangers away. Scoring for the Vikings: Brenden Niezgoda had 12, Colin Graves added 9, Anthony Robertson had 7, Grant Gilliland added 6, Jacob Betts and Aaron Stephenson each had 5, Asa Featherstone had 4, C.J. Click and Ryan Reed chipped in 2 apiece. The Vikings play on Wednesday evening December 30th at Ohio Christian University vs County Rival Westfall.

The JV Vikings capped a 23 point second half come back with a 3 point shot at the buzzer in overtime to defeat the Tigers.  The Vikings came out of the lockerroom very slow and sluggish.  We were not able to get anything going offensively or defensively at all. The Vikings were down 15 - 6 after 1 period and 34 - 13 at half.  The second half saw the Vikings claw their way back into the game with a tough diamond press and converting them into easy layups. The VIkings trailed 41 - 34 after three periods and the fourth period was a fast action paced as the Vikings completed the comeback with 4:15 left in the fourth period. The Vikings went up by as many as 5 in the closing seconds of the period, the Tigers never gave up and had a chance to win the game with 3 seconds left on the clock.  In overtime the VIkings and Tigers battled back with neither team establishing control. With the score tied at 59 with 18 Seconds left the Vikes took a time out to set up a play, we worked the ball around and when the Tigers defended the play Jacob Betts hit a 3 as time expired.  Scoring for the VIkings: Jacob Betts had 20, Colin Graves and Grant Gilliland each had 10, C.J. The JV Vikings came out real sluggish in falling behind 9 - 0 in the early minutes of the first quarter, before rallying to a 17 - 12 quarter deficit. The Vikings played better defense in holding the Bulldogs to 8 second quarter points, trailing at half 25 - 20. The Third quarter saw the Bulldogs pull away from the Vikings, outscoring them 14 - 4 in the third period. The Vikings tried to catch up in the fourth period but were unsuccessful in their attempt.  Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 10, C.J Click had 7, Grant Gilliland, Asa Featherstone and Colin Graves each had 4, Brenden Niezgoda and Ryan Reed each knocked in 2. The Vikings travel to Circleville on Friday.

The Vikings were able to hold off a early charge by Mifflin, but were unable to sustain the momentum as the Punchers came away with a 9 point win. The Vikings trailed 13 to 9 after 1, but were down 10 - 2 after 2 minutes. The Vikings were still down 4 at half and after three quarters.  The Vikings were able to put 20 points on the board in the 4th quarter, but were unable to stop Mifflin as they scored 25.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brenden Niezgoda had 14, Jacob Betts had 13, C.J. The JV Vikings got their first win of the year at Lancaster. The Vikings used good defense, fast breaking lay - ups and aggressive play to capture their first win of the season. The Vikes were up 10 - 2 after 1 period, and used a 8 - 0 run to end the first half to go up 27 - 16. The Vikings extended the lead to as many as 15 in securing the win. Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 15, Brenden Niezgoda added 9, C.J. Click had 8, Grant Gilliland added 6, Asa Featherstone had 4 and Ryan Reed and Colin Graves each had 2. The Vikings open up Mid State League play as we travel to Bloom Carroll on Saturday evening.

The JV Vikings played hard and aggressive in the home opener, but fell short to Jerome. The Vikings held a slim 2 point lead after 1 period and trailed 24 - 20 at half. The Vikings outscored the Celtics by 1 in the second half, but the deficit was too much to over come. If we play that hard every night we are going to be a good team.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Colin Graves had 14, Jacob Betts added 12, Branden Niezgoda had 8, Grant Gilliland added 7 and C.J. Click had 4. The Vikings play at Lancaster tomorrow night.

The JV Vikings won all 4 quarters in route to a MSL win over the Falcons. The Vikings had a slim 13 - 11 lead after one period, then stepped up the defense in allowing 4 points in the second quarter. The Vikes took a 24 - 15 halftime lead and extended it in the second half. It was a great way to finish off a good season of JV Basketball.  Scoring for the Vikings: Vic Priest had 20, Kevin Tavenner added 12, Tyler Dresbach and Zach Poole each had 8, and Dominic Koah, Brenden Niezgoda and Grant Gilliland each had 2.  The Vikings finish the season with a 11 - 9 over all record and 6 - 8 in the MSL.  I would like to thank all the players and parents for their efforts and support over the past season. The Vikings used some timely rebounding and made some free throws down the stretch to seal the win. The JV Vikings played a solid four quarter game and defeated the Rangers at Hamilton. The Vikings Took a 31 - 18 halftime and never looked back in the second half. The JV Vikes lost to Amanda at Amanda. We were unable to get anything going tonight and we really struggled from the Line.  Amanda did a good job of containing us for 3 and 1/2 quarters, the Vikes pulled to within 1 with a minute to go but were unable to connect on their Free Throw attempts. The JV  Vikings lost a close game tonight against a very quick and physical BC team. They were able to push the ball on us and get easy lay ups and we had to work very hard to earn baskets.  The game was close all the way with each team taking a 4 point lead at one point. The Vikings were down 4 points with 45 seconds left and got a steal and a basket to cut it to 2. After a defensive stand and a rebound the vikings came down and took a time out with 13 seconds left. We ran a play and missed a three as time expired. Scoring for the Vikings: Dominic Koah had 19, Kevin Tavenner added 11, Vic Priest chipped in 10, Tyler Dresbach had 6 and Ben Tosca had 4. The Vikings play host to Logan Elm tomorrow night.

The JV Vikings lost a very physical game last night against a very good Logan Elm team. The Braves jumped out to a 12 - 1 lead midway through the first half, before the Vikings battled back to take the lead late in the 2nd period.  The Braves hit a 3 as time expired to go up 4 at the break.  The second half saw Logan Elm outscore the Vikings 31 - 19.  We had our troubles on the offensive end of the floor tonight. The Braves did a good job of defending us offensively, defensively we were unable to get any stops when we needed them.  Scoring for the Vikings: Vic Priest had 12, Dominic Koah had 10, Kevin Tavenner added 7, Tyler Dresbach had 5, Colin Graves added 4.  The Vikings are in action on Tuesday at Amanda.

The JV Vikes lost a tough game against a good Canal team. We had a few turnovers that lead to easy baskets for Canal, and Canal was able to control the boards most of the night. Our kids battled back to only lose by 11, we were down quite a few in the second half.  Scoring for the Vikings: Vic Priest had 16, Ben Hite added 6, Dominic Koah, Brenden Niezgoda and Grant Gilliland each had 5, Kevin Tavenner and Tyler Dresbach had 4 apiece and Ben Tosca had 2. The Vikings play Bloom Carroll at home on Friday.

In a very sloppy and slow game the Vikings were able to secure a win over Columbus Briggs. The Vikings showed great patience and solid rebound in the second half to secure the win.  Scoring for the Vikings: Dominic Koah had 16, Tyler Dresbach had 8, Kevin Tavenner had 6, Brenden Niezgoda had 3, Vic Priest and Grant Gilliland each had 2. The VIkings are 7 - 5 over all and 3 - 4 in the MSL.  We play host to Canal Winchester on Tuesday night, then travel to Watkins Memorial on Thursday and return home Saturday vs. Logan Elm.

The JV Vikings wrapped up the first round of MSL action with a win over Fairfield Union.  The Vikings were able to control the tempo of the game and the flow of the game for all 4 periods in gaining a solid MSL win.  The VIkes were up 11 - 6 after 1 period and 22 - 20 at half. The second half saw the Vikes give up 15 points total while scoring 26. Scoring for the Vikings: Dominic Koah had 20 points, Tyler Dresbach and Vic Priest each added 10, and Kevin Tavenner had 8.  The Vikings play host to Briggs tomorrow night.

The JV Vikings defeated Circleville with a patient effort. The Vikes jumped out to a 15 - 10 1st qtr lead and held that 5 point advantage through halftime.  The Vikings won the second half 29 - 28 and took home the win. The JV Vikings held a slim 1 point lead after 1 period of play. The second period saw the Vikings outscore the Rangers 25 -9 and take a 17 point lead into the lockerroom. The second half was a total turnaround for the Vikes. The Rangers pressure and our turnovers lead to Hamiltons 29 point 3rd quarter. We were unable to get control of the game back in the 4th period and our turnovers lead to easy lay-ups for the Rangers. The JV VIkings used hot shooting an good defense in jumping out to a 22 - 10 first quarter lead. The Vikings extended the lead to 24  points at halftime - 41 - 17. The third quarter the Aces got hot and cut into the lead before the Vikings won the fourth quarter and the game.  We shot the ball extremely well tonight and I felt our defense was very good.  Scoring for the Vikings: Kevin Tavenner had 24, Dominic Koah had 21, Tyler Dresbach added 10, Cole Bowling and Brenden Niezgoda each had 8 and Vic Priest had 4.  The Vikings are 4 - 4 overall and 1 - 3 in the MSL.  We play Tuesday night at home vs Hamilton.

The JV Vikes jumped to a 15 - 4 first quarter lead and never looked back in defeating the Gales of Lancaster.  The Vikings scored 30 points in the first half and 29 points in the second half to secure the non league win.  It was a good defensive effort for us, offensively we put the ball in the basket and limited our turnovers.  Scoring for the Vikings: Kevin Tavenner had 15, Vic Priest added 14, Tyler Dresbach knocked down 11, Dominic Koah added 8, Brenden Niezgoda had 7 and Ben Hite had 4. The Vikings used good shooting and tough defense in recording a Pickaway County win at Westfall. The Vikings jumped out to a 8 - 2 lead, and extended that to 14 - 7 at the half. The second half saw the Vikings outscore the Mustangs 21 - 14 and pick up a much needed victory. Scoring for the Vikings: Tyler Dresbach had 15, Kevin tavenner and Vic Priest each had 8, Dominic Koah added 5.  The Vikings will play host to Lancaster on Saturday night January 3rd at home.

The Vikings lost a well played game tonight in their home opener.  The Vikings did a great job of controlling the tempo of the game all night, at half trailing 15 - 14. The third period saw a burst by Gahanna and the Vikings had a few too many turnovers and trailed 31 - 23 after 3 periods. The fourth period saw the Vikings claw their way back into the game, but a few costly turnovers in a row led to easy buckets for Gahanna and we were not able to get the victory. The JV Vikes lost a tough, high scoring affair to the bulldogs of Bloom Carroll.  It was a game of very little defense and a bunch of offense.  The Vikings trailed 15 - 12 after 1 period and 29 - 26 at half. The third period saw both teams maintain their offensive out put, in the fourth quarter both teams scored 20 points and the Vikings came up just a little short. Scoring for the Vikings: Dominic Koah had 19, Kevin Tavenner added 16, Vic Priest knotched 12, Tyler Dresbach had 11 and Brenden Niezgoda added 2. The Vikings Play tomorrow night in their home opener vs Gahanna.

The Vikings lossed a tough game last night at Logan Elm. The Vikings came out slow falling behind 16 - 6 after the first period. The Second period saw the teams battle each other with the Vikings going into the halftime break down 10.  The second half the Braves turned up the pressure and wore down the Vikings in winning the second half 28 - 14. I felt the kids played hard and never gave up, we need to keep improving and getting better everyday in practice. Scoring for the Vikings: Kevin Tavenner had 8, Tyler Dresbach added 7, Vic Preist had 6, Dominic Koah added 5, Brenden Niezgoda had 4 and Ben Hite had 1.  The Vikings travel to Bloom Carroll on Friday for a tough MSL Contest.  The Vikings are 1 - 2 overall and 0 - 2 in the MSL.

The JV Vikes came up 2 points short in a great JV basketball game.  The game was close after 1 period with CW up by 1, the 2nd period saw the Indians taka a 10 point lead into the lockerroom. In the third period the Vikings used some good D and converted on the offensive end inside to close the gap to 2 points heading into the 4th period. The 4th period saw the game go back and forth with both teams holding a 1 or 2 point lead just to see the other team erase the deficit. The Vikings missed a jumper at the buzzer to end regulation. Overtime was thrilling as well as both teams battled, CW made 2 free throws with 8.6 seconds to go, TV called Time out and set up a last second shot, the shot glanced off the backboard as the horn sounded.  Both teams played hard and it was a real good game. Scoring for the Vikings: Vic Priest had 13, Kevin Tavenner added 10, Cole Bowling add 8, Dominic Koah had 7, Tyler Dresbach had 5. The Vikings play at Logan Elm on Friday night.

The JV Vikings opened the 2008 - 2009 season with an impressive 22 point win over Dublin Jerome. Teays Valley put 3 players in double figures and was able to hold off a late rush by Jerome in sealing the first win of the year.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Dominic Koah had 13, Vic Preist added 12, Kevin Tavenner added 10, Cole Bowling had 6 and Tyler Dresbach had 2. 8th grade boys lost a hard fought game to canal by the score of-28-40. Boys finished the season 10-5 and improved over the course of the season. It was a pleasure teaching the boys the game of basketball and watching them grow as a team. We had lots of fun on and off the court. I will miss this group of boys but will enjoy watching them as they compete in the MS league for the next four years. Enjoy you're time as a TV Viking as the time will go much faster then you realize. I can't thank the parents enough for all they did for the boys. Thank you to all that supported us this season....

8th grade boys won their first tournament game by beating Circleville 49-43. Boys led 9-6 after first quarter and trailed 16-20 at the half. Boys came out strong in the 3rd quarter and cut the lead to 31-32. Boys played a strong 4th quarter and outscored Circleville 18-11 to come home with a victory. The boys face a tough Canal squad on Thursday 2-18-10. Please come support us in our quest to win the championship. Play hard and good things happen.

8th Vikes lost to Fairfield Unio by the score of 32-38. Vikes played a strong first half and led 22-18 at halftime. Vikes came out flat in the second half and only scored 10 points. Vikes finish the regular season at home against a tough Logan Elm team. Play hard and good things happen.

8th grade boys lost a hard fought contest with canal tonight by the score of 33-38. Vikes trailed 14-17 at halftime. Vikes came out slow in the 3rd quarter and trailed 23-30 entering the 4th quarter. Vikes made a great run to cut the lead to 2 points but could not get any closer to finish the game.

8th grade boys traveled to Amanda and came away with a 50-13 win. We had 12 players score. We face a tough canal team on Thursday and will need all the support we can get. Keep working hard and good things happen.

8th grade boys beat Hamilton by the score of 49-25. Vikes improved to 8-2 on the season and travel to Amanda on Monday. The Vikes started the game strong by scoring 18 points in the first quarter. Vikes continued the steady play and led 26-15 at halftime. Vikes came out strong in the 3rd quarter and scored 17 points to increase the margin to 43-22. Vikes shared the ball well tonight and had 10 players crack the scoring column. Play hard and good things happen.

8th grade Vikes improved to 7-2 on the season with a hard fought victory over Circleville by the score of 42-33. The boys played solid defense and shared the ball well. Vikes led 9-4 after quarter 1 and led at halftime 21-11. Vikes played a good 3rd quarter and made free throws in the 4th quarter to seal the victory. Play hard and good things happen.

Vikes traveled to Hamilton Saturday morning and came away with a hard fought 41-30 victory. Vikes started slow and led 9-3 after one quarter. Vikes were outscored 10-11 in the 2nd quarter and led 19-14 at half. Vikes came out of the locker room and were sluggish but led 26-20 after 3 quarters. Boys opend the season with a fine victory over a scrappy Bloom squad. The Vikes started off strong by scoring 17 points in the 1st quarter. Bloom battled back and the vikes led 27-24 at the half. Vikes came out in the 3rd quarter and out scored Bloom 16-6 and never trailed from that point on. Vikes had balanced scoring and played a tough 2-3 zone in the 3rd and 4th quarters. 8th grade boys won an exciting game tonight by the score of 39-37. The game was tight for 3 quarters and tied at 27 entering the 4th. The Vikings were down 7 points with a little over a minute to go. The Vikes played solid defense down the stretch. Seth Anderson tipped the ball from behind and Tyler Cowles tracked the ball down and made a 3pointer and then the Vikes held and with 16 seconds left the Vikes scored a lay-up and Tyler Primmer stole the in-bounds pass to make the lay-p as time expired to win the game.

Vikes won a hard fought game with Circleville and came away witht eh win by the score of 44-42. Vikes came out strong and led 15-10 after the first quarter and led 23-14 at half. Vikes led 35-24 after 3 quarters and hung on for the win at the end. Vikes passed the ball well and made the free throws at the end. Work hard and good things happen.

8th grade boys lost to a good Fairfield Union team by the score of 18-64. The boys came out flat and were behind 10-21 after the first quarter. We were down 15-37 after the 2nd quarter and only scored 3 points in the second half.

8Th grade boys won their 1at round tournament game by beating Circleville. The boys came out slow and led at halftime 12-10. We had a good 3rd quarter by scoring 14 points and leading 26-21. Tyler Sisson played a good game off the bench and scored 7 points and Jacob Betts scored all 16 of his pointsin the 2nd half. Derek Vaughn played a good game rebounding and defending.Weplay a tough Fairfield Union team on Thursday at 5PM.

The 8th grade boys finished the season with a loss to a very good Fairfield Union team by the score of 27-53. The boys played hard for 2 quarters and then Fairfieldflexed their muscle and shot well in the 2nd half to win the game going away. We start our tournament play on Saturday.

The 8th grade boys won their last home game of the season and the last boys middle school regular season game in the middle school by beating Circleville 42-40. This was a hard fought game through 4 quarters and the boys came up with a big stop at the end of the game to seal the victory. The boys came out strong in the 1st quarter and led 19-7. We led 26-19 at the half and came out slow in the 3rd quarter and got outscored 13-4 and trailed 32-30. The 4th quarter was back and forth with each team trading buckets. Circleville made 7 3 pointers on the night and the boys hung tough when our shots were not falling.

The 8th grade boys won their last home game of the season and the last boys middle school regular season game in the middle school by beating Circleville 42-40. This was a hard fought game through 4 quarters and the boys came up with a big stop at the end of the game to seal the victory. The boys came out strong in the 1st quarter and led 19-7. We led 26-19 at the half and came out slow in the 3rd quarter and got outscored 13-4 and trailed 32-30. The 4th quarter was back and forth with each team trading buckets. Circleville made 7 3 pointers on the night and the boys hung tough when our shots were not falling.

The 8th grade boys beat Amanda in double overtime by the score of 42-41. The boys led 25-17 at the half and came out slow in the 3rd quarter and the game was tied at 27 going into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter was a defensive struggle as both teams could only score 6 points. The first overtime saw both teams play good defense and we had a chance to win at the buzzer but the shot would not go in. We made our free throws in the 2nd overtime and pulled out the victory.

The 8th grade boys started slow tonight and trailed 6-12 after the first quarter. The boys turned up the defensive effort in the second quarter and outscored Hamilton 17-4 to take a 23-16 lead at halftime The boys played a better after halftime and won by the score of 48-28. We play a good Amanda team on Wednesday and then play Circleville on Thursday.

8th grade boys lost a tough game to Bloom Carroll by the score of 68-69 in overtime. The boys trailed 13-14 after one period and lead 33-25 at halftime. The boys came out flat in the 3rd quarter and gave up 20 points in the 3rd quarter. The boys played tough defense down the stretch to force overtime. We had our chances and missed numerous lay-ups and foul shots. We play Amanda on Thursday 1-29.

8th grade boys lost to Canal by the score of 28-40. We trailed 0-8 mid-way through the 1st quarter and could never get any closer than 3 points. We only had 3 players score and only scored 8 points in the 2nd half. We play a tough Bloom team on Monday.

8th grade boys traveled to Logan Elm and came away with a big win. Wes Call made his first start of the season and played well after he shook off the nerves. The Vikings took a 13-8 lead after one quarter and held Logan Elm to 1 point in the second quarter to take a 30-9 halftime lead. The Viking defense forced 22 turnovers and led to some easy fast break points. Graham Trego played his best game of the year with 4 points and 2 assists. The Vikings shared the ball well with 8 guys scoring. We play Canal on Saturday 1/24/2009, please come and support the Vikings.

The Vikes won today by the score of 42-21. The score was 20-10 at halftime and vikes led 30-18 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Vikes had balanced scoring with 8 guys getting points. I would like to give credit to TV West for playing a very hard and physical game and it was nice to see the improvement of each player. TV basketball has a bright future.

The Vikes lost a hard fought game tonight to a very good Logan Elm team by the score of 26-34. The Vikes led 18-16 at halftime but traled 22-24 at the end of the 3rd quarter and could not make up any ground the rest of the game. The boys played hard but came up a little short.

Keep working hard and good things will happen.

8th grade boys played a very good Fairfield Union team tonight. The score at the end of the 1st quarter was 13-16. We got outscored 6-17 in the 2nd quarter and could never come closer than 20 points the rest of the game. The boys played hard and gave a good effort but Fairfield made 11 3 pointers that proved too much for the boys to make a come back.

8th grade boys played their best game of the year by beating Circleville 52-41. We shared the ball well and had 3 players in double figures. We were leading 13-12 after one quarter and 27-24 after 2 quarters when Derrick Vaughn put back a missed shot at the buzzer. We struggled in the 3rd quarter only scoring 6 points but put up 19 in the 4th quarter to seal the victory. We play a very tough and undefeated Fairfield Union team on Monday. The 8th grade boys started the new year off on a good note as they defeated Hamilton Township 44-13. We started the 1st quarter by leading 19-4 and we increased the lead to 25-8 at halftime. The 8th grade boys lost to a good Bloom Carroll team today. We went down 3-0 and never got the lead for the game. We battled back in the 3rd quarter but could never get any closer than 10 points. We are off for the holiday break and our next game will be 1/5/2009.

The 8th grade boys basketball team lost their first game of the year to Amanda Clearcreek by the score of 23-45. The boys started the game flat and Amanda came out strong and played hard. The Vikings held Amanda to 2 points in the 3rd quarter but could not overcome the 22 point defecit. We travel to Bloom Carroll on Saturday.

8th grade boys won  their home opener by beating Logan Elm by the score of 36-19. The boys had balanced scoring as 9 guys scored for the vikings.
