The boys team finished second at the Ashville Kiwanis Invitational on Friday Night.  Individual Champions were Kendall Clark in the 400m Dash, Zane Grabans in the 300 Hurdles, Taylor Conn in the 3200, the 4x800m relay team of Tyler Conn, Taylor Conn, Dominic Koah, and Zane Grabans, and the 4x400m relay team of Tyler Conn, Brenden Niezgoda, Zane Grabans, and Michael Hutter.

The Teays Valley track and field team competeted in the Stingel Invitational at Pickerington North High School on Saturday.  We finished fourth with 62 points in the 14 team invitational.  We had a nice day with a lot of personal best performances.  The 4x200 team of Chris Hemming, Eric Matyas, Billy Hodge, and Efe Aydinoglu had a personal best by 4 seconds.  Tyler Conn had a personal best split for the 4x800 relay, as well as personal best times in the 1600 and 3200.  Dominic Koah had a career best run in the 300 hurdles in his first return to the race this season.  Placers for the meet are listed below.  Complete results can be found on www.baumspage.com

The team finished second at the Anthony Wilson Track Invitational at Franklin Heights on Saturday. The meet was a close competition throughout the day with five different teams in the hunt for the win after fourteen of the sixteen events were completed. The final event determined the order of the top three teams with our team finishing second with a ½ point lead over Groveport Madison. First place finishers were Robby Spencer in the Discus and the 4x800 meter relay team of Pete Freeman, Tyler Conn, Brenden Niezgoda, and Taylor Conn.

With a completely different 4x800m relay team as well as several other athletes who had not competed Friday night, the team finished third in the eleven team Kallner Invitational at Hamilton Township on Saturday. The meet started with the 4x800m relay team consisting of Zach Race, Grant Zwayer, Zane Grabans, and Brenden Niezgoda finishing taking the First place finish. Other medalists on the day consisted of: Jake Zwayer with a 3rd in the Discus, Dominic Koah with a 1st in Pole Vault, Zach Race with a 1st in the 800m Run, and Taylor Conn with a 1st place 1600m Run and a 2nd in the 3200m Run.

On Friday night, we hosted the 20th Annual Ashville Kiwanis Invitational. The six team meet, which only permits one entry per running event as well as combined scores in field events, was highly competitive. The team finished second behind Big Walnut. First place finishers were: Robby Spencer and Jake Zwayer in Discus, Derrick Taylor in the 100m Dash, Kendall Clark in the 400m Dash, Pete Freeman in the 800m Run, and the 4x800 meter relay team of Pete Freeman, Chris Varian, Tyler Conn, and Taylor Conn.

The team finished 8th out of 16 teams Saturday at the Stingel Pickerington North Invitational.  Several athletes had personal best performances including Tyler Conn, Taylor Conn, Grant Zwayer, and Derrick Taylor.  Tyler and Taylor pulled the triple in distance events competing in the 4x800 meter relay, 1600 meter run, and 3200 meter run, taking a 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th place.  The 4x400 meter relay team of Grant Zwayer, Zach Race, Pete Freeman, and Kendall Clark took an 8th place finish to anchor the meet.  All four athletes competed in various events earlier in the day.  Kendall competed in the 200 and 400 meter dashes.  Zach also competed in the 400 as well as the 4x800 meter relay and high Jump.  Zach finished sixth in high jump.  Grant Competed in Long Jump and the 800 meter run, finishing 9th in the 800 with his best time ever.  Pete also competed in the 800 finishing 3rd, High Jump, and the 4x800 meter relay team.  Other placers on the day were Dominic Koah, Derrick Taylor, and Robby Spencer.  Robby finished 3rd in the Discus.  Derrick finished 8th in the 100 meter dash, and Dominic won the pole vault.  Dominic tied for the field event most outstanding athlete at the meet.

On Saturday the team placed first out of eight teams at the Chillicothe Relays. All relay teams finished in the top three in their events. Fist Place finishes were the Shuttle Hurdle team of Tim McDonald, Zane Grabans, Dominic Koah, and Colton Foreman; The 4x800m Relay team of Tyler Conn, Taylor Conn, Brenden Niezgoda, and Grant Zwayer; and The Pole Vault team of Chris Hemming, David Eckel and Dominic Koah. Dominic broke the school record in pole vault with a vault of 13 feet 6 inches to win the meet. The previous record was 12 feet 9.5 inches.

The regular season ended last week with the completion of the District tournament. Scoring for the Vikings: Robbie Spencer with a 5th Place Discus; the 4x800 relay team of Taylor Conn, Grant Zwayer, Tyler Conn, and Pete Freeman finished 8th; Walter Stewart placed 4th in the High Jump, advancing to regionals with a personal best height of 6'1"; Pete Freeman ran a season best 2:00 in the 800 to finish 6th, and Colton Foreman finished 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles, qualifying him to the regional tournament.

The Team finished 5th at the Viking Invitational 0n Saturday. The meet was highly competitive with 5 meet records being broke. All four of our relay teams put points on the board, with the 4x800 relay and 4x200 relay teams crushing their best time. The throwing duo of Robbie Spencer and Jake Zwayer scored 20 points with Robbie improving his discus by 7 feet to win the Invitational. Other individual placers were Pete Freeman in the 800, Walter Stewart in the 400, Colton Foreman in the 110 hurdles, and Tyler Conn in the 3200 meter run. In a tight competition, the team finished 4th in the 9 team meet. Chris Varian, Nate Dresbach, Pete Freeman, Zane Grabans, Travis Jacks, and Jared Henkle all had personal best performances. The meet started unusually with the 3200 meter run, in which Varian and Dresbach pulled off a 2nd and 3rd place finish. The next finals event was the 4x800 relay, in which the team of Taylor Conn, Grant Zwayer, Tyler Conn, and Pete Freeman took first. Colton Foreman also took first in the 110m hurdles. Other top three finishers were Dominic Koah in the Pole Vault and Pete Freeman in the 400 meter Dash.

The team finished a close second behind Circleville at the Pickaway County Championships. All 4 relay teams ran season best times with the 4x100 team of Drew Robbins, Kendall Clark, Derek Taffe, and Colton Foreman finishing 1st. Each of the other 3 relays finished a close second. Dominic Koah, Pete Freeman, Tim Mcdonald, Sean Betts, Jordan Sturgill, Corey Long, Chris Varian, Tyler Conn, Luke Kuhner, Aaron Ward, and Travis Jacks all had personal best performances. Individual County Champions were Pete Freeman in the High Jump, and Colton Foreman in the 110 hurdles and long jump

The team competed well at the always tough Dublin Classic. Jake Zwayer, Robbie Spencer, Dominic Koah, Colton Foreman, Tim Mcdonald, Taylor Conn, Nate Dresbach, Tyler Conn, Chris Varian, Zane Grabans, and Pete Freeman all had season best perfomances. Placing was Colton Foreman finishing 4th in the 110 Hurdles, and the 4x800 meter Relay team of Taylor Conn, Tyler Conn, Nate Dresbach, and Pete Freeman, finishing 8th in the meet.

The team finished third against Yellow Springs and London on Tuesday. Walt Stewart, Travis Jacks, Chris Varian, Dominic Koah, Sean Betts, and Mark Plaat all had individual personal best performances. Walt finished 1st in the high jump for the second time this season, and the 4x100 relay team of Drew Robbins, Kendall Clark, Derek Taffe, and Mark Plaat finished 1st with a two year top time performance.

The Team finished 3rd over-all at the Fulton Relays in Lancaster. The highly competitive meet ended with a 4 point spread between the 3rd and 5th place teams. The boys just edged out Unioto and Upper Arlington with the conclusion of the 4x400 Relay. All facets of the team remained impressive throughout the meet. The distance and Middle Distance Teams picked up a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and two fifth place finishes. The Jumpers picked up two 3rd place, and one 5th place finish. The throwers picked up a 3rd and 5th, and the sprint/hurdle team picked up a 2nd, 3rd, and two 4th place finishes. Top performers of the meet were Colton Foreman and Dominic Koah. Dominic, finished 3rd in the pole vault matching his personal best Vault. He has been in the top 4 in every meet this season. Colt Foreman had another impressive day. His performances in the Shuttle Hurdles, 4x100 Relay, and Sprint Medley led to a great finish in each. Colt also jumped a personal best in the Long Jump.

The Boys Track team won the Fairfield Union Invitational with 123 points, beating out 13 other teams with second place Philo scoring 76 points. Colton Foreman, Tyler Conn, Chris Varian, Taylor Conn, Jacob Mathews, Dominic Koah, Robby Spencer, and Jake Zwayer all had personal best performances. Performers of the meet were Colton Foreman, Robby Spencer, and Jake Zwayer. Jake broke his personal best in Discus by over 7 feet to finish second over-all. Colton broke his personal best in the 110high hurdles to finish first. This is Colton's 2nd consecutive win in the 110. Robby broke his personal best in the shot put and discus, finishing 2nd and 4th respectfully. Robby was the Fairfield Union Invitational Field Event MVP.

The Boys Track Team won the Hamilton Township booster Invitational, defeating 7 teams. Colt Foreman, Tim Mcdonald, and Tyler Conn all won their individual events. The Field event participants performed well with Robby Spencer, Jake Zwayer, Aaron Ward, Travis Jacks, Pete Freemen, Dominic Koah, Walt Stewart, and Jacob Matthews, all having personal best performances. JD Wallis was the top performer in pole vault. Top performer(s) of the day go to Tim Mcdonald and Robby Spencer. Spencer broke his personal record in the shot put by over two feet to be the top performer in the meet. Tim's win came later in the evening. After pulling ahead of the rest of the field Mcdonald tripped on the last hurdle taking a hard fall, He fought through the pain and rolled across the finish line to win the 300hurldes with his third fastest time to date.
