The Vikings lost a tough game vs the Greyhounds tonight at Grove City. The were down 1 after 1 and down 11 at Half. The Vikings came out hot in the 3rd period and outscored the Greyhounds 13 - 6. The 4th period saw the two teams battle almost evenly, before Grove City put the game away at the Free Throw line.  Scoring for the VIkings: NAte Noltemeyer had 15, Kyle Barnett and Wess Call each had 8, Garrett Gilliland and Andrew Looney each had 3, and Alan Thurmond had 2. The Vikings travel to Circleville on Tuesday.

The JV VIkings prevailed in a MSL contest with a 8 point win at home against Amanda. The game saw the Vikings jump out to a 20 -10 halftime lead only to see the Aces cut the lead to 4 after 3 periods. In the 4th the VIkings took control of the game and put it away at the defensive end of the floor allowing only 2 baskets the entire 4th period.  Scoring for the Vikings: Wess Call had 12, NAte Noltemeyer added 7, Alan Thurmond and Cody Redman each had 4, Garrett Gilliland, Kyle Barnett and Andrew Looney each had 2. The Vikings travel to Grove City tomorrow night for a tough OCC clash.

East boys beat Hamilton by the score of 36-19. Boys led 7-3 after 1st quarter and 17-10 at halftime. Boys came out strong in 3rd quarter outscoring Hamilton 14-6 and never trailed the rest of the game.

The JV Vikings opend up league play with a tough loss at LE. The game saw the Vikings start slow in the first and third periods and were unable to over come the deficit created in those periods. The Vikings Trailed 10 - 5 after 1 and 19 - 13 at half. The third period saw the Vikings score 4 points as shots were unable to fall. The VIkings made a run in the fourth period and got it to 2 points, but were not able to get it over the hump.  Scoring for the Vikings: Kyle Barnett had 9, Cody Redman added 8, Andrew Looney chipped in 5, Nate Noltemeyer had 4, Alan Thurmond had 3, and Garrett Gilliland knocked in 2. The Vikings return to action on Friday when they host Amanda.

Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball team got off to a good start at Logan Elm and were only trailing 20-19 at halftime.  The third quarter once again was the difference in the game as the Vikings were outscored 19-9 to fall behind by 11 entering the final quarter.  The Vikings were not able to rally in the 4th quarter and fell to the Braves by the final score of 55-40.  Scoring for the Vikings: Anderson 2, Betts 11, Gilliland 10, Featherstone 8, Primmer 4, Graves 5.

East boys traveled to Bloom on Thursday and came away with a hard fought 29-23 victory. Boys trailed 11-14 at halftime but came out strong in the 3rd quarter by outscoring Bloom 8-0 and held the lead after the 3rd quarter 20-14 and never trailed again.

8th Grade east boys lost to a tough Logan Elm team by the score of 25-49. East next game is against Bloom Carroll on Thursday 12-8-11.

The Vikings got off to a good start and lead 11-2 early, but Lancaster slowly chipped away at the lead and pulled to within 2 at halftime.  The third quarter was a the difference in the game as Lancaster outscored Teays Valley 11-4 to take a 5 point lead into the 4th quarter.  The Vikings cut the lead to 2 points in the fourth quarter, but were never able to regain the lead.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Anderson 2, Betts 5, Gilliland 8, Primmer 8, Graves 6, Noltemeyer 4.

The JV VIkings took their game on the road and came away with a hard fought win. The Vikings were down 14 - 10 and half before coming out in the second half and scoring 34 second half points. Scoring for the Vikings: Kyle Barnett had 17, Jacob Hastings added 6, Nate Noltemeyer and Wess Call each had 5, Cody Redman chipped in 7, and Garrett Gilliland had 4. The Vikings travel to Logan Elm next Saturday to open up MSL action.

The Teays Valley Varsity Boys Basketball team struggled offensively against Dublin Jerome as they opened the season with a 40-34 loss at home.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Anderson 5, Betts 8, Gilliland 4, Featherstone 2, Primmer 9, Graves 6.
