The Teays Valley girls showed so much spirit as they rallied to outscore Bloom Carroll 15-9 in the second half, but it was not quite enough.  The defense and rebounding throughout the game was great, and the girls definitely showed they could not be defeated in spirit.  Scoring for the Vikes were Gabby Gregg with 10, Darby Martin with 7, Bailee Sturgeon with 6, Ashley Fortner with 2, and Brittany Tucker with 1.  Ashley Rice and Darby Martin really inspired the team during the 4th quarter with their strong defense and caused many turnovers by Bloom Carroll with their many steals.  The whole team upped their rebounding to significantly out-rebound Bloom Carroll in the second half.

This year has been a truly great year and I am so proud of this team for their great improvement throughout the season.  Not only have you made me proud as your coach, but you have also made your parents and fans extremely proud.  Thanks to all the parents for their support.  We could not have done it without you.  It is going to be an amazing year next year!  -- Coach Rachael
