The MS Vikings traveled to Carroll, Ohio to compete in the Pickerington Invitational at Pine Hills Golf Course. The Vikings played very well and shot a team score of 378, which was good enough for a 7th place finish out of the 15 teams participating. Leading the Vikings yet again was 8th grader Jadee Davis. Zach Mogan also finished his MS golfing season on a high note. He carded a 94. Codi Burley finished out his season with a nice round of 99. After a shaky start Chris Mills fired an even 100, and Gabe Meyers turned in a 112. Although only 5 team members participated in this competition, I would like to take the time to thank all golfers on the team this year. Your hard work and willingness to learn has made this year a success. I truly enjoyed all of you and I am excited to see your games develop over the next few years. I also want to thank the parents for being so supportive of your athletes and the Viking golf program. You have helped make this season an enjoyable one. Good luck and Go Vikings!!

Last night we capped off our MS golf season with the Viking Middle School Golf Scramble. The eight team competion included two MS teachers (Mr. Knechtel, and Mr. Lupfer. Mr. Lombardo and Ms. Emerine were afraid they would melt in the rain so they decided not to show), parents and grandparents of some of our players, and of course our MS golfers. Despite a little wind and mist Team Mogan (Zach, Mr. Mogan, and Mr. Knechtel) fired a tournament record 4 under par for the victory. Team Davis (Jadee, Mr. Davis, Mr. Smith) and Team Mills (Chris, Mr. Mills, and myself) both came in with a score of 2 under par for a tie for second place. Coming in a tie for third was Team Burley/Samlow (Codi, Mr. Burley, Max, Mr. Samlow), and Team Olsson/Lampinen (Nik, his grandfather, Alison, and Mr. Bontrager her grandfather), both teams shooting an impressive one over par 37. Coming in fourth was Team Fletcher/Meyers (Tony, Mr. Fletcher, Gabe, and Mr. Lupfer) shooting a 40. Team Schneider/Collapy (Clayton, his grandfather, and Stephen) shot 44, while Team Sardella/Quinn came into the clubhouse with individual scores because they forgot we were playing a scramble.

It was a great time had by all who participated and I just want to say thank you again for your support of our athletes and the TVMS golf program. GO VIKINGS!!!
