After a disappointing loss on Monday, the 7th grade Lady Vikes rebounded for a 38 to 31 win over Logan Elm on Thursday. The Vikings poured on the defense and led LE 14 to 3 at the end of the first quarter. LE made a run to pull within 3 at halftime, but the Vikings came out strong in the second half and came away with the win. Leading the scoring charge was Megan Zealer with 20 points, Keelia Nester 8 points, Alexis Rice 7 points, Jamie Weber 2 points, and Tricia Dresbach with 1 point. The 7th grade is now 2 and 2 on the season.

The 7th grade girls suffered a disappointing loss to Amanda on Monday. After leading at half-time 21-14, Amanda came out strong in the third quarter and ran off 17 points to lead at the end of the third quarter 31-27. Although the Vikings came out strong in the fourth quarter, they couldn't overcome the pressure of Amanda. Leading the way for the Vikings was Megan Zealer with 14 pts, Keelia Nester 8 pts, Jamie Weber 4 pts, Allie Yerian, Katie Hatcher, Alexis Rice each with 2 pts, and Tricia Dresbach 1 pt.

After a slow start, the Lady Vikings came out strong in the third quarter and ran off 13 pts to lead going into the fourth quarter 23 to 15. The Vikings kept up the defensive pressure and Circleville could not recover. Scoring for Teays Valley were Megan Zealer 14 pts, Jamie Weber, Emily Kuehn, Keelia Nester 3 pts, Tricia Dresbach and Alexis Rice 2 pts each. The Lady Vikings will be back in action at home on January 5 against Bloom Carroll.

The lady vikings lost to a very good Fairfield Union team last night. The vikings were tied at the end of the first but in the second turned the ball over and gave up 16 points while only scoring 2. The 7th Grade Teays Valley East Girls Basketball Team played a great game against a tought West team winning 26-17.  The entire team played great defensively and hustled for all four quarters to come out ahead and get the victory.  Leading the way for the Vikings, having an outstanding game, was Lindsey Krause with 14 points, including two 3-point shots!  Also scoring for the Vikings were Taylor Wilson with 4 and 2 points each by Natalie Glick, Peyton Theado, Taylor Richards, and MacKenzie Meyers.  The ladies travel to Fairfield Union this Monday, game time 5 p.m.!

The Teays Valley girls showed so much spirit as they rallied to outscore Bloom Carroll 15-9 in the second half, but it was not quite enough.  The defense and rebounding throughout the game was great, and the girls definitely showed they could not be defeated in spirit.  Scoring for the Vikes were Gabby Gregg with 10, Darby Martin with 7, Bailee Sturgeon with 6, Ashley Fortner with 2, and Brittany Tucker with 1.  Ashley Rice and Darby Martin really inspired the team during the 4th quarter with their strong defense and caused many turnovers by Bloom Carroll with their many steals.  The whole team upped their rebounding to significantly out-rebound Bloom Carroll in the second half.

        This year has been a truly great year and I am so proud of this team for their great improvement throughout the season.  Not only have you made me proud as your coach, but you have also made your parents and fans extremely proud.  Thanks to all the parents for their support.  We could not have done it without you.  It is going to be an amazing year next year!  -- Coach Rachael

The 7th grade girls East basketball team opened their season with a loss to a tough Fairfield Union team.  The girls played hard and were lead by Lindsey Krause with 8 points.  They continue to improve in practice and will face Logan Elm Thursday December 3rd at 5 p.m. (away game).  Their score definitely does not reflect their effort on the court!!!

Tonight the Lady Vikes of West kicked off the season with a hard fought battle against a tough Bulldog defense. The Lady Vikes came up a little short in the second half. Leading the charge for us was Shelby Eing who had 7 points. While missing Captain Rebekah Burchnell to illness and point guard Deanna Gloyd (4 points) to foul trouble the Lady Vikes did a remarkable job having to fill in the pieces with the void of not having a true point gaurd. Other contributors in the game was Erika Skowronek with 6 points, Mckenzie White added 4 more points to help keep the score close. Also playing a key role was Abbi Helser (2 points) who played a remarkable job on defense.

Next game will be this Monday home against Hamilton Township at 5pm. As we continue to grow everyday with hard work and dedication the 7th Grade Lady Vikes looks to have a promising season ahead of them.

The 7th Grade Lady Vikings came out fighting hard in the first half and were only down by 2 at the half (12-10).  The girls did not come out ready in the second half and were outscored 18-9.  Taylor Wilson, Taylor Richards and Mackenzie Meyers all had 4 points while Kerby Gregg added 3 and Lindsey Krause had 2 points.  Kerby Gregg did a good job defensively rebounding and came out aggressive off the bench tonight.  We travel to Bloom Carroll on Monday 12/07/09, game time 5 p.m.

The Lady Vikes of West defeatd the Rangers of Hamilton Twp 29 to 12. After some tough practices the Lady Vikes took the court with much more confidence. After opening the first quarter with only 4 points the Lady Vikes came out with a tough defense in the second quarter opening there lead at the half to 14 to 4. The starters decided that it was up to them to build a lead so everyone could get some playing time. The toughness of the Lady Vikes defense didnt stop in the third quarter either. At the end of the third quarter the Lady Vikes was leading 26 to 8, clearing the way for everyone else on the team to get the playing time they deserved. Leading the way was Samantha Millimen with 12 points along her side was Rebekah Burchnell with 10 points. Also scoring was Shelby Eing, Deanna Gloyd and Erika Skowronek who all added 2 points as well. Also scoring a free throw was Alli Gritter.

The efffort on defense for the Lady Vikes was a TEAM effort. As we continue to grow through hard work and preperation in practice the season looks still promising for the Lady Vikes of West !!!! Next game will be Thursday away at Canal Winchester....

The Lady Vikes had thier first road game last night with a dissapointing loss to the Indains from Canal Winchester. The Lady Vikes got caught up in some phigh pressure defense that we couldnt get out of. With the next game on Saturday at Fairfield Union its back to the drawing board as we prepare ourselves for another tough opponent on Saturday.

The 7th Grade East Lady Vikings had a great team effort today and defeated an aggressive Hamilton Twp team 24-15!  Leading the team in scoring was Taylor Wilson with 12 points and Natalie Glick with 4 points.  We had exceptional defensive effort today by the entire team with outstanding play in particular by Kerby Gregg and Lindsey Krause.  It was a great win for the ladies.  The team is really starting to come together and give 110% on the floor for the entire game!  Way to go Ladies!!!!  We travel to Amanda Clearcreek on Monday for a 5 p.m. game.

The Lady Vikes played the Falcons of Fairfield Union. The falcons press was more than enough to handle as the Lady Vikes could never recooperate after a big lead going onto the half. On a positive side note the Lady Vikes came out and gave everything they had in the fourth scoring 6 in the 4th. Next game monday against Logan Elm.

Leading the way scoring was Rebekah Burchnell with 6 and Shelby Eing with 5, Deanna Gloyd with 4 and chipping in was Erica Skowronek with a free throw.

The Lady Vikes of West came out flat from the begining trailing big after the first half. The Lady Vikes of West couldnt get it going til late in the forth at which point the game was a little out of hand. However, on a good note all 13 players got some valuable game time experience. Leading the way was Samantha Millimen with 6 points along with 4 points added by Rebekah Burchnell and Shelby Eing. Also adding with a free throw each was Alexis Kulp and Deanna Gloyd who both played some really good defense the second half. This Saturday The Lady Vikes of West play host to Amanda Clearcreek at 10am. Hope to see you all out there.

The 7th Grade Teays Valley East Girls Basketball Team played a great game against a tought West team winning 26-17.  The entire team played great defensively and hustled for all four quarters to come out ahead and get the victory.  Leading the way for the Vikings, having an outstanding game, was Lindsey Krause with 14 points, including two 3-point shots!  Also scoring for the Vikings were Taylor Wilson with 4 and 2 points each by Natalie Glick, Peyton Theado, Taylor Richards, and MacKenzie Meyers.  The ladies travel to Fairfield Union this Monday, game time 5 p.m.!  WAY TO GO TEAM!!!!!!!

The 7th Grade Lady Vikings had a tough road trip and fell short to Fairfield Union.  Scoring for the Lady Vikings were Taylor Richards with 4, Taylor Wilson with 2 and Lindsey Krause with 2.  The numbers dont show the effort these ladies constantly put forth on the court.  I am proud of these girls!!!!!

The 7th Grade East Lady Vikings played a GREAT game against a Logan Elm.   We played a consistent game and played with great intensity but fell short of the win.  Leading the way for the Lady Vikings was Kerby Gregg with 6 points, Karina Overholt with 4 points, and Lindsey Krause with 4 points.  We have a week off from game play and return to action 1/25/10 at Circleville.

The 7th Grade East Lady Vikings came off a week without playing a game and had a difficult transition back into game play at Circleville.  Leading the way scoring points for the Lady Vikings was Lindsey Krause with 6 points, Taylor Wilson with 4 points, and Natalie Glick with 3 points.  Shelby Rogers contributed a free throw as well.   We travel to Hamilton Twp Thursday and look to play with consistent effort from the entire team!

The 7th grade Lady Vikings came alive after a slow first quarter to beat an aggressive Hamilton Twp. team 22-4!  It was a total team effort with well-rounded scoring.  Leading the Vikings with 6 points was Taylor Wilson.  Also getting into the scoring action were Lindsey Krause with 5 points, Natalie Glick with 4 points, Lora Overholt with 3 points, and 2 points for both Kerby Gregg and Becky Reinhart.  The team played solid defense and rebounded well holding their opponent to only 4 points!  Way to go Ladies!!!  We play our final home game Monday, 2/01/10 at 5 p.m.!!!

The 7th grade East Lady Vikings played a great game tonight and defeated Amanda 25-14!  The ladies had their best 1st quarter of the season but then struggled a little in the 2nd quarter. However, they came back strong in the 3rd and 4th quarters to pull away from the Aces.  Defensively it was one of their best games and they also ran the offense with great patience and confidence!  Leading the way in scoring for the Vikings was Karina Overholt with 9 points, Lindsey Krause with 6 points, Taylor Wilson with 4 points and 2 points each by Natalie Glick, Taylor Richards, and Mallory Rosch.  Way to go Ladies!!!!!
