The JV VIkings opened their '05-'06 basketball season with a 44 - 31 loss to the hands of the Blue Lions. The Vikings started the game off great holding the Lions to 0 points in the first quarter. The second quarter proved to be the turning point in the game as the Vikes gave up 21 second quarter points. "I was pleased with our first and third quarter defensive efforts tonight. I am a little concerned about our offensive output, but I am confident that these young men will rebound and put together solid efforts night in and night out. I think we had first night jitters, after we calmed down we seemed to be fine, tonight we just had a tough time scoring. This team is going to be fun to watch this season as we grow together and develop, I believe we could be very good." Coach Barnett

The JV Vikes took to the road to play Lakwood this evening and came up on the short end of a 39 - 35 overtime game. After a very uninteresting first half of basketball that saw both teams struggle on the offensive end of the floor. The Vikings came alive in the second half thanks to some inspired and energetic play. The Vikings outscored the Lancers 14 - 7 to erase a halftime deficit and tie the score heading into the final period. The fourth quarter saw the Vikings take a slim lead and the Lancers battled back to tie. With 7 second left and the Vikes up 1 Lakewood took the missed free throw and went the length of the court and were fouled. After a time out Lakewood made 1 of 2 that sent the game into overtime. In overtime the Lancers pulled out to a quick 4 point lead, the Vikings battled back. The overtime period was filled with a lot of up and down action, but the Vikings were unable to get an closer than 2 in the extra period. " I liked the way we played the second half and overtime. If we would have played that way for four quaters we would have come away with the win tonight. Our offense is still not where I would like to see us, but our defensive effort was very good only giving up 39 points. It came down to free throws and we just weren't able to connect this evening. I am excited about some of our kids effort and play, if we can all step it up this week in practice I think next weekend we will see different results on the scoreboard." Coach Barnett

The Vikings traveled to West Jefferson and picked up their first win of the young season. The Vikings played solid defense in the second half and converted on free throw attempts down the stretch to seal the victory. "It was a different type of game for us tonight. I am glad that we were able to come up with the win. The kids seemed to battle tonight and played hard when it counted. I still think our best basketball is ahead of us, we need to continue to work hard day after day." Coach Barnett

The Vikings traveled to Canal Winchester tonight and came away on the short end of a 60-42 final. The Viking dug a hole in the first quarter and were never able to rebound from a slow start. "We didn't play very well this evening, I thought we would be ready to play coming off a big win. We came out slow and had trouble guarding them tonight. I didn't see the fire in our players eyes tonight, it seemed as if we were in slow motion. Give our kids some credit, after a rough first half we came out and won the second half. We will regroup and get things put together and get ready for Logan Elm on Friday." Coach Barnett

The JV Vikes made a defensive stand as we defeated the Braves of Logan Elm. The win gives the Vikings their first in the MSL and 2nd of the season. "I thought defensively we played very well tonight, our defense led to a lot of easy buckets. I was very pleased with the play of all of our players tonight, we should be able to play this way every night. We took a 1 point half time lead and scored 20 points in the third period and 15 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory." Coach Barnett
Scoring for the Vikes: Freshman Brandan Amann lead the way with 19 points followed by classmate Brady Stewart with 10 points. Zach Loveless added 6, and Elliott Heckler, Travis Ell, Ethan Henkle and Trent Morrison each chipped in 4. The Vikings are in action Tuesday night at Amanda.

The Teays Valley JV lost a high scoring affair tonight. The teams combined for 131 points. The Vikings had difficulty handling the Aces pressure as we committed many turnovers. "Give the kids credit, we were down as many as 16 points and battled back to get it within 3. We were just unable to get the game tied. If you liked offense this was the game for you, neither team could guard anybody, it's just too bad we put up 63 points in a losing effort. Our kids battled and faught, now we must continue to improve over Christmas and get ready for Westfall and the second game of the County Championship." Coach Barnett

The JV Vikings lost a tough game against Westfall by the score of 45-38. The Vikings had a tough time getting things started, but battled the Mustangs for four quarters. The Vikings will try to rebound from this tough loss on Friday when we travel to Circleville. The Teays Valley JV lost to cross town rival Circleville by the score of 37-27. "We had a tough time on the offensive end of the floor this evening. We struggled to convert on some baskets and gave up some easy transitions buckets. I give the kids a lot of credit they didn't give up, we got it as close as 1, but could not gain the lead. We will go back tomorrow and start preparing for Fairfield Union on Tuesday. I am looking for a strong performance on Tuesday at home." Coach Barnett

The Falcons were just too much for us to handle tonight. "I thought we looked to attack a little more offensively tonight, we were unable to guard them on the other end. They got a lot of easy transition baskets, where we had to work hard to get our scores. I was pleased with the play at times tonight, we just have to be more consistent and sustain it for four quarters. I am looking for a good three days of practice and heading to Miami Trace." The JV Vikes got their '06 - '07 season off to a running start with a 71 - 29 win over Lakewood. The Vikes scored the first 8 points and quickly ran up a 11 point first quarter lead. The Vikes extended the lead to 25 points at half and 36 after 3 quarters. It was a great display of sharing the basketball and a total team effort. The Vikings were lead by Pete Freeman with 22 points, Zach Race added 14, Alex Ell knocked down 13, Stewart Trego had 6, Mackenzie Coe and Grant Zwayer each had 5 Clint Bladen had 4 and Brady Stewart added 2. It was a game that saw the Vikes jump out to a 15 - 6 lead at the quarter and then maintain the lead throughout the ballgame. The Vikings were able to overcome some turnover problems and some unlucky bounces in defeating the Lions. The Vikings used a 14 point fourth quarter to seal the win and a 2 - 0 start. Scoring for the Vikings: Pete Freeman had 18, Zach Race had 7, Brady Stewart 5, Grant Zwayer and Alex Ell each with 4 Mackenzie Coe and Stewart Trego with 3 apiece and Clint Bladen with 2. The Vikes raced out to a 12 point lead early in the 1st quarter only to see the Indians score 17 2nd quarter points to take a 2 point half time lead. The Vikings came out smokin in the second half as they put up 21 3rd quarter points. The Vikings defense held up as the Indians could only score 6 points in the 4th period as the Vikings sealed the victory. Scoring for the Vikings: Alex Ell had 18, Pete Freeman added 17, Zach Race knocked down 10, Grant Zwayer added 9, Stewart Trego chipped in 8, Clint Bladen added 4 and Brady Stewart had 2. The JV boys lost their first game of the season by the score of 53 - 45. The first quarter saw the Braves jump out to a 3 point lead, the second quarter saw the Vikings battle back to take a 3 point lead into the lockerroom. The Vikes came out in the third quarter flat and saw the Braves put up 24 points in the period. The Vikings battled back to close the gap to 8, but could not get defensive stops nor make baskets at the offensive end, to get any closer. Scoring for the Vikings: Stewart Trego - 16, Zach Race 8, Pete Freeman - 7, Brady Stewart - 6, and Clint Bladen and Grant Zwayer each had 4. The Vikings will play Amanda Tuesday night at home.

The JV Vikings saw their record improve to 4 - 1 with an exciting overtime win against Amanda. The Vikings trailed by 1 after the first period. The second period saw race horse basketball as both teams built a lead to 10 points only to see the other team overtake them. The Vikings lead at half by 1 after a fast paced first half. The third quarter saw the Viking put up 21 points in route to a 12 point third quarter lead. The fourth quarter saw the Aces erase the lead and take one of their own before the Vikings took a slim 2 point lead in the last 21 seconds. The Aces made 2 free throws with 4 seconds and the VIkings got off a desperation heave only to see it fall a little short. In the overtime the Vikings won the tip and scored first, the Aces raced down the court and scored right back. It was a fast paced overtime period that saw both teams take the lead then the other tie it up. With 10 seconds left and the Viking leading by 2 the Aces were fouled and made both free. In the excitement that followed Stewart Trego ended up with the ball and getting fouled with 1 second on the clock. Stewy stepped to the line and made both free throws to seal the win for the Vikings. Scoring for the Vikings: Stewart Trego 21, Pete Freeman 17, Zach Race 16, Clint Bladen 7, Brady Stewart 6 and Grant Zwayer 3. The Vikings travel to Fairfield Union on Friday.

The Vikes pressed their way back into the game before a desperation 3 pointer fell short at the buzzer. Scoring for the Vikes: Zach Race had 18, Pete Freeman added 7, Brady Stewart had 6, Stewart Trego and Grant Zwayer each had 4 and Clint Bladen finished with 3. The Vikings travel to Westfall on the 30th.

The Vikings ended the 2006 portion of the season with a 6 point win at Westfall. The Vikings used a 17 - 6 first quarter to help build a lead that they would never lose. The Vikings took a 28 - 21 lead into half time before coming out and scoring 32 points in the second half. The Vikings had to hold off a couple of late runs and some good three point shooting by the Mustangs in order to gain the victory. Scoring for the Vikings: Clint Bladen had 16, Pete Freeman added 12, Zach Race had 11, Stewart Trego added 8, Grant Zwayer and Brady Stewart each had 6 and Celtic Brady added 1. The Vikings will host Circleville on Saturday night at Teays Valley.

Both halves saw the Vikings pass the ball well and finish on the offensive end, while the defensive end of the floor saw a lot of deflections and tips leading to transition buckets. The Vikes came out in the 3rd and extended their lead and finished off the game with a solid 4th quarter. Scoring for the Vikings: Stewart Trego had 18, Clint Bladen had 14, Grant Zwayer had 13 and Zach Race added 12, Pete Freeman chipped in 8, Brady Stewart added 5 and Mackenzie Coe knocked down 2. The Vikings jumped to a 19-15 first quarter lead and used a 25-13 run over the next 2 quarters to pull away from the Braves. The 4th quarter saw the Vikings maintain their lead in route to their 12th win of the season. The win puts the Vikings in a three way tie for first place with a trip to one of the other first place teams, Amanda Clearcreek on Tuesday night. Scoring for the Vikings: Brady Stewart had 20, Zach Race added 14, Clint Bladen had 10, Stewart Trego added 6, Grant Zwayer and Pete Freeman each had 4 and Celtic Brady had 2. The fourth period saw each team trade baskets before the Viking finally prevailed by the final margin. The Vikings raced out to a 22 - 10 first quarter lead before seeing Bexley put the clamps down and allow the Vikings only 3 points in the second period. The Third period saw the Vikes outscore the Lions by 3 in taking a 5 point lead into the 4th period. In the fourth quarter the Vikings were unable to protect a lead and saw themselves down by 3 with 9 seconds left. After a time out the Vikings Mackenzie Coe hit a 3 point shot as the buzzer sounded sending the game into overtime. In overtime the Vikings were unable to get any offense going, with costly turnovers on 4 of the last 5 possessions the game slipped away. Scoring for the Vikings: Mackenzie Coe knocked down 14, Pete Freeman added 13, Zach Race added 10, Brady Stewart had 9, Stewart Trego chipped in 4, Clint Bladen had 2 and Grant Zwayer added 1. The JV Vikings completed the season sweep of the Circleville Tigers, but it didn't come without a fight. The Tigers hung tough throughout the game, the Vikings were able to answer each run made by the Tigers all evening. The Vikings started out on a 10 - 0 run before seeing the lead cut to 2 at the quarter. The second period saw much of the same as the Vikings made a little run and the Tigers answered. The second half was identical to the first as the Vikings made runs and the Tigers answered. With under 2:00 to play in the game the Vikings pulled ahead by 6, turned up the defensive pressure and forced the Tigers to foul. Brady Stewart made 6 of 8 free throws in the last 2:00 minutes to help seal the win. Overall it was a good team win as all players scored and contributed. Scoring for the Vikings: Zach Race and Pete Freeman each had 12, Celtic Brady added 9, Mackenzie Coe and Brady Stewart each knocked in 6 Stewart Trego had 4 and Clint Bladen added 2. The Vikings are in action Tuesday night as they travel to Bloom Carroll.

The JV boys secured at least a share of the MSL championship by defeating the Rangers. The game saw the Vikings score 21 first quarter points and 19 second quarter points to put away the Rangers before halftime. The second half saw much of the same as the Vikings gave up 11 second half points to the Rangers. Scoring for the Vikings: Pete Freeman had 19, Stewart Trego added 17, Zach Race had 16, Brady Stewart had 11, Celtic Brady added 4, and Mackenzie Coe, Grant Zwayer and Clint Bladen each had 2. The Vikings travel to Bloom Carroll on Saturday for a chance to become three time MSL Champs.

Congratulations to the 2006 - 2007 JV Boys Basketball team on their MID STATE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. The Vikings defeated the Bulldogs last night to earn the out right Championship with a league record of 12 - 2. The Vikings, who finished 17 - 3 overall, lead by 2 at the quarter and trailed by 3 at halftime. The third quarter saw the Vikings turn up the "D" as they yielded only 6 points in the quarter to take a slim 32 - 31 lead into the fourth. In the fourth period the Vikings used the press to their advantage and knocked down 6 of 7 free throws late in the game to capture the win. The championship is the third in a row for these Vikings. Scoring for the Vikings: Zach Race had 18, Stewart Trego added 13, Pete Freeman added 10, Grant Zwayer added 4 and Brady Stewart and Clint Bladen each added 2. The JV Vikings saw a 13 point second half lead dissappear in a tough 2 point loss to CW. The Vikings used a stingy press and converted some easy layups in route to a 26 - 17 halftime lead. The third quarter saw both teams play well and shoot well as the score was 38 - 30 TV after 3 periods. The fourth quarter saw the Indians get hot, TV gave up 23 fourth quarter points, combined with some missed shots and untimely turnovers as the Vikings saw their lead dissappear. The game was a 2 point game for the last 2 minutes before the Indians made 2 free throws with 1.1 seconds left to seal the win. The third period saw the Vikings take a brief 1 point lead before losing that lead late in the third period due to some hot shooting by the Lions and some untimely misses by the Vikings. The third period saw the Vikings outscore the Falcons to tie the score after 3 periods. The fourth period started with a 7 - 0 TV run, fueld by the Viking bench. Our bench was huge for us tonight in the win and lit the fire for our team. The Vikings scored 22 points in the fourth period to dispose of the Falcons. The JV Vikes came up 2 points short in a great JV basketball game.  The game was close after 1 period with CW up by 1, the 2nd period saw the Indians taka a 10 point lead into the lockerroom. In the third period the Vikings used some good D and converted on the offensive end inside to close the gap to 2 points heading into the 4th period. The 4th period saw the game go back and forth with both teams holding a 1 or 2 point lead just to see the other team erase the deficit. The Vikings missed a jumper at the buzzer to end regulation. Overtime was thrilling as well as both teams battled, CW made 2 free throws with 8.6 seconds to go, TV called Time out and set up a last second shot, the shot glanced off the backboard as the horn sounded.  Both teams played hard and it was a real good game. I felt the kids played hard and never gave up, we need to keep improving and getting better everyday in practice. The Vikings lost a well played game tonight in their home opener.  The Vikings did a great job of controlling the tempo of the game all night, at half trailing 15 - 14. The fourth period saw the Vikings claw their way back into the game, but a few costly turnovers in a row led to easy buckets for Gahanna and we were not able to get the victory. The Vikings were down 4 points with 45 seconds left and got a steal and a basket to cut it to 2. After a defensive stand and a rebound the vikings came down and took a time out with 13 seconds left. The JV Vikings won all 4 quarters in route to a MSL win over the Falcons. The Vikings had a slim 13 - 11 lead after one period, then stepped up the defense in allowing 4 points in the second quarter. The Vikes took a 24 - 15 halftime lead and extended it in the second half. It was a great way to finish off a good season of JV Basketball.  Scoring for the Vikings: Vic Priest had 20, Kevin Tavenner added 12, Tyler Dresbach and Zach Poole each had 8, and Dominic Koah, Brenden Niezgoda and Grant Gilliland each had 2.  The Vikings finish the season with a 11 - 9 over all record and 6 - 8 in the MSL.  I would like to thank all the players and parents for their efforts and support over the past season. It has been a pleasure working with your son this year.

The JV Vikings played hard and aggressive in the home opener, but fell short to Jerome. The Vikings held a slim 2 point lead after 1 period and trailed 24 - 20 at half. The Vikings outscored the Celtics by 1 in the second half, but the deficit was too much to over come. If we play that hard every night we are going to be a good team.  Scoring for the Vikings:  Colin Graves had 14, Jacob Betts added 12, Branden Niezgoda had 8, Grant Gilliland added 7 and C.J. Click had 4. The Vikings play at Lancaster tomorrow night.

The JV Vikings got their first win of the year at Lancaster. The Vikings used good defense, fast breaking lay - ups and aggressive play to capture their first win of the season. The Vikes were up 10 - 2 after 1 period, and used a 8 - 0 run to end the first half to go up 27 - 16. The Vikings extended the lead to as many as 15 in securing the win. Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 15, Brenden Niezgoda added 9, C.J. Click had 8, Grant Gilliland added 6, Asa Featherstone had 4 and Ryan Reed and Colin Graves each had 2. The Vikings open up Mid State League play as we travel to Bloom Carroll on Saturday evening.

The Vikings were able to hold off a early charge by Mifflin, but were unable to sustain the momentum as the Punchers came away with a 9 point win. The Vikings trailed 13 to 9 after 1, but were down 10 - 2 after 2 minutes. The Vikings were still down 4 at half and after three quarters.  The Vikings were able to put 20 points on the board in the 4th quarter, but were unable to stop Mifflin as they scored 25.  Scoring for the Vikings: Brenden Niezgoda had 14, Jacob Betts had 13, C.J. Click added 9, Colin Graves and Grant Gilliland had 7, Ian Fox tallied 5, Ben Tosca had 4 and Aaron Stephenson had 3. The Vikings travel to Bloom Carroll Saturday to open up the MSL.

The JV Vikings came out real sluggish in falling behind 9 - 0 in the early minutes of the first quarter, before rallying to a 17 - 12 quarter deficit. The Vikings played better defense in holding the Bulldogs to 8 second quarter points, trailing at half 25 - 20. The Third quarter saw the Bulldogs pull away from the Vikings, outscoring them 14 - 4 in the third period. The Vikings tried to catch up in the fourth period but were unsuccessful in their attempt.  Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 10, C.J Click had 7, Grant Gilliland, Asa Featherstone and Colin Graves each had 4, Brenden Niezgoda and Ryan Reed each knocked in 2. The Vikings travel to Circleville on Friday.

The JV Vikings capped a 23 point second half come back with a 3 point shot at the buzzer in overtime to defeat the Tigers.  The Vikings came out of the lockerroom very slow and sluggish.  We were not able to get anything going offensively or defensively at all. The Vikings were down 15 - 6 after 1 period and 34 - 13 at half.  The second half saw the Vikings claw their way back into the game with a tough diamond press and converting them into easy layups. The VIkings trailed 41 - 34 after three periods and the fourth period was a fast action paced as the Vikings completed the comeback with 4:15 left in the fourth period. The Vikings went up by as many as 5 in the closing seconds of the period, the Tigers never gave up and had a chance to win the game with 3 seconds left on the clock.  In overtime the VIkings and Tigers battled back with neither team establishing control. With the score tied at 59 with 18 Seconds left the Vikes took a time out to set up a play, we worked the ball around and when the Tigers defended the play Jacob Betts hit a 3 as time expired.  Scoring for the VIkings: Jacob Betts had 20, Colin Graves and Grant Gilliland each had 10, C.J. Click had 9, Brenden Niezgoda had 7, Ben Tosca, Anthony Robertson and Asa Featherstone each had 2. The VIkings play at home on Tuesday against Hamilton

The JV Vikings took control of the game early and never looked back in defeating the Rangers in an MSL game. The Vikings jumped out to an 18 - 8 halftime lead and scored 25 points in the decisive third quarter to put the Rangers away. Scoring for the Vikings: Brenden Niezgoda had 12, Colin Graves added 9, Anthony Robertson had 7, Grant Gilliland added 6, Jacob Betts and Aaron Stephenson each had 5, Asa Featherstone had 4, C.J. Click and Ryan Reed chipped in 2 apiece. The Vikings play on Wednesday evening December 30th at Ohio Christian University vs County Rival Westfall.

The JV Vikings lost a tough county battle vs Westfall at OCU. The Vikings jumped out to a 13 - 8 lead after 1 Quarter only to see the Mustangs cut the deficit to 3 at half. The Mustangs came out in the second half and out scoring the Vikings 26 to 13 in securing the win. Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 11, Colin Graves had 7, Asa Featherstone chipped in 6, Billy Hodge and C.J. Click each knocked in 4, Ben Hite had 3 and Anthony Robertson had 2. The Vikings play next at Amanda.

The JV Vikings jumped out to a 8 - 0 lead early in the game only to see the Braves outscore the Vikings 30 - 8 in the remaining part of the first half. The Vikings were down as many as 20 points, before battling back and closing the gap to 3 points with 1 minute to play in the game. The JV Vikings needed overtime to defeat the Aces tonight. The Vikings did a good job of keeping their composure the whole game and making clutch baskets when needed. The Vikings held off 2 last second attempts by the Aces to secure the win. The fourth quarter saw the Vikings continue to close the gap to as few as 4, but were unable to overtake the Falcons. Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 10, Billy Hodge added 9, Ryan Reed and Colin Graves each had 7, Asa Featherstone had 6, and Ian Fox added 1. The Vikings play at home on Tuesday vs Bloom Carroll.  The Vikings are 5 - 7 overall and 3 - 4 in the MSL.

The JV Vikings played their best game of the season in defeating the Bulldogs. The Vikings used sound defense and good passing in route to a 16 point victory.  The score was tied at 11 after one period and the Vikes trailed by 1 at half. The third quarter saw the VIkings score 17 while giving up only 5. The fourth quarter was much of the same as the Vikings extended their lead. The Vikings outscored the bulldogs 30 - 13 in the second half. Scoring for the VIkes: Colin Graves had 12, Billy Hodge and Asa Featherstone each chipped in 10, Brenden Niezgoda had 8, Jacob Betts added 6, and Grant Gilliland, Ben Tosca and CJ Glick each chipped in 2. The Vikings play Circleville on Saturday at home.

The JV Vikings ran past cross town rival Circleville in the New Viking gym. The Vikes jumped out to a 20 - 13 first quarter lead and extended the lead to 39 - 25 after 2 periods. The second half continued the same way the first half ended with a 14 - 7 third quarter run, followed by a solid fourth quarter. It was a good win for the Vikes, a win that everyone contributed in. Scoring for the Vikes: Jacob Bett had 15, Billy Hodge added 14, Asa Featherstone had 12, Ian Fox and Colin Graves each knocked in 8, CJ Glick had 7, Brenden Niezgoda added 3 and Grant Gilliland had 2. The Vikings travel to Hamilton on Friday and to Hilliard Bradley on Saturday.

The JV Vikings defeated the Aces with a balanced scoring attack and solid defense. The Vikings jumped out to a 14 - 6 first quarter lead and extended that to 27 - 18 at the half. The Aces battled back and cut the lead to 2 before the Vikings went on a 8 - 0 run. The JV Vikings did a good job of taking care of the basketball and rebounding in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.  Scoring for the Vikings: Jacob Betts had 13, Billy Hodge and Colin Graves each added 10, Asa Featherstone added 6, Grant Gilliland had 4, Brenden Niezgoda and Ben Tosca each had 2 and Ben Hite had 5. The Vikings play Fairfield Union tomorrow night at Teays Valley.

The JV Vikings played a solid game in securing the victory in their final home game. The Vikings put 17 points on the board in the first queater and 13 more in the second to take a 30 - 25 lead into half time. The Second half saw two teams battle with stingy defense and timely offense. The Vikings were able to come away with an impressive 52 - 47 victory over the Falcons who had defeated the Vikings earlier in the year. Scoring for the Vikings:  Billy Hodge had 14, Jacob Betts had 10, Jamal Glick added 9, Colin Graves had 6, Ben Hite had 5, Asa Featherstone knocked in 4 and Grant Gilliland and Brenden Niezgoda each had 2. The Vikings will travel to Canal Winchester tomorrow night.

The JV Vikings were able to win at Hamilton on Friday night after a 13 day lay off. The Vikes started off real slow and sluggish leading 7 - 6 after 1 period. The second period saw the Vikings hold the Rangers to 2 points in expanding the lead to 14 - 8 at half. The second half saw a see - saw battle in which the Vikings won 18 - 15 to secure their 8th win of the season. Scoring for the Vikings: Brenden Niezgoda had 10, Billy Hodge added 6, Jacob Betts and Jamal Glick had 4 each, Ben Hite and Grant Gilliland each chipped in 3 and Asa Featherstone had 2. The Vikings travel to Logan Elm Saturday.

The JV Vikings were unable to hold on to a first half lead in falling to the Braves on Saturday.  The first quarter saw each team try to figure one another out and ended 4 to 4. THe Second period saw the Vikings score 19 points and jump to a 23 - 13 halftime lead. The second half saw the Vikings go cold from the field and the free throw line and the Braves heat up as Vikings were outscored in the second half 33 - 15. Scoring for the VIkings: Jacob Betts had 21, Colin Graves had 6, Brenden Niezgoda added 5, Jamal Glick had 3, Billy Hodge added 2 and Grant Gilliland had 1. The Vikings play at Canal Winchester on Tuesday. The JV record stands at 8 - 8 overall and 6 - 5 in the MSL.

The JV Vikings closed out the '09 - '10 campaign with a tough loss at Canal Winchester. The Vikings jumped out early taking a 14 - 9 lead into the second period, in the second period the two teams battled, with the Vikings holding on to a 24 - 19 halftime lead. In the third period the Indians turned up the defense and held the Vikes to 3 points in the quarter, the Vikings trailed 33 - 27. The JV Vikings never gave up and closed the gap to 4 points early in the fourth period before falling to the Indians by 11. Scoring for the Vikings: Billy Hodge had 12, Colin Graves added 10, Jamaal Glick had 5, Ryan Reed, Ben Tosca each added 4 and Ben Hite and Brenden Niezgoda each knocked in 2.  The JV Vikings ended the season with a 10 - 9 overall record and 8 - 6 in the MSL.
